Who We Are

About Honey Comb Connection

A community of UTSA students dedicated to honeybees, beekeeping education, and connecting students with research opportunities.

Our Mission

The HCC is dedicated to providing educational and professional development, mentorship, and facilitating the acquisition of practical skills relevant to honeybees and beekeeping.

We connect students with beekeepers, professors, and research opportunities through workshops and seminars. Our goal is to create a welcoming community where UTSA students can learn about apiculture and develop valuable skills.

Like the hexagonal cells of a honeycomb, each member of our organization is a vital part of a larger, interconnected structure. Together, we're stronger.

Our Values

Education

We believe in hands-on learning about honeybees, beekeeping practices, and pollinator science through workshops and seminars.

Conservation

We're committed to protecting honeybees and native pollinators through habitat restoration and community awareness.

Inclusivity

Every UTSA student is welcome here, regardless of major, background, or beekeeping experience level.

Community

We connect students with beekeepers, professors, and researchers to build a supportive apiculture community at UTSA.

Our Story

From a small idea to a thriving community.

Honey Comb Connection was founded by UTSA students who shared a passion for honeybees and wanted to create a space for others to learn about beekeeping, pollinator conservation, and the vital role bees play in our ecosystem.

The founding members chose the honeycomb as our symbol for a reason: in nature, honeycomb is one of the most efficient and beautiful structures. Each hexagonal cell supports those around it, creating something far stronger than any individual piece could be alone.

Today, HCC hosts workshops, hive tours, and educational seminars that connect students with experienced beekeepers, professors, and research opportunities. We've helped many UTSA students discover their passion for apiculture and environmental conservation.

Our vision is to be UTSA's hub for beekeeping education and pollinator advocacy—a place where every Roadrunner can learn about bees and contribute to protecting these essential pollinators.
